Naomi Watts Jokes That She’s ‘Finally Cool’ in Her Daughter Kai’s Eyes

Naomi Watts is relishing a new stage of motherhood.

The Goodnight Mommy actress, 56, reshared a since-deleted Instagram post onto her Instagram Stories from her daughter, Kai, featuring a throwback photo of Watts with model Kate Moss.

“Finally cool in the eyes of my daughter 🤣 🤣 🤣,” Watts over the photo.

The Friend actress and her daughter have a tight-knit bond. Recently, they have been seen together attending many fashion events, including an Armani Beauty event together on June 18.

The mother-daughter duo both dazzled in their outfits as they stopped to pose for pictures. Watts wore a navy blue sparkly dress paired with black mules and a slicked back hairstyle. Kai, who was towering over her mother in sky-high heels, wore a black skirt with multi-colored polka dots and a matching black short-sleeved shirt.

Watts and her then-boyfriend Liev Schreiber welcomed their first child, son Sasha, 18, in 2007, and their second child, daughter Kai, in 2008, before ending their 11-year relationship in 2016.  Since then, Watts and Schreiber have been open about remaining friends and putting their children first.

“We’re doing things very differently. I’m pretty proud of us, corny as that may sound,” Watts told Net-a-Porter in August 2019. “We’ve made it our absolute priority to be good and kind to each other and we’re absolutely committed to that.”

The couple recently reunited to celebrate a special family moment. On Tuesday, Aug. 19, Watts, 56, shared multiple photos on her Instagram Stories showing her, Schreiber, 57, and their son Sasha enjoying a meal together as the proud parents prepared to see their eldest child off to college.

Sasha — who is starting his freshman year at the University of Southern California — beamed next to his mom and dad in one sweet shot, showing the trio sat at a table at the L.A. eatery Cara Restaurant.

“Here we go…” the Impossible actress wrote across the photo.
