Two-time Academy Award winner Jodie Foster is fond of all the “trophies” she has collected over the years.
When Foster, 62, appeared at the Toronto International Film Festival‘s Tribute Awards dinner on Sunday, Sept. 7 to accept the Share Her Journey Groundbreaker Award, the actress joked that her wife, Alexandra Hedison, likes to poke fun at her over the variety of “trophies” the Silence of the Lambs star has won.
“This is lovely, and my wife is always making fun of me because I really love my trophies. I love my trophies,” Foster said at the event, which honors “outstanding contributions and achievements of leading industry members, actors, directors, new talent, and film artists of all kinds,” according to the festival. Foster was in Toronto over the weekend to premiere her new movie, A Private Life, with French director Rebecca Zlotowski.

“I’m like a little kid with the little the football helmets and I keep putting them in different positions and changing them around,” the actress added. “I love them because I love making movies with these teams.”
During her speech, Foster thanked Zlotowski, 45, as well as Sony Pictures Classics executives Michael Barker and Tom Bernard, her agents and the team “that travels with me to make sure that I don’t kill myself and because they dress me. They put the makeup on me, which I would rather stick my eyes with pins.”
The True Detective: Night Country star also recognized her publicist, Jennifer Allen, and her management team, who she said “never get a shout out, but they actually do the dirty work of keeping me acting.” She added, “I don’t think that I would be acting today if I didn’t have my homegrown team. So, thank you to everybody here. I love movies. You love movies. I can’t wait to see more.”

The Toronto International Film Festival runs through Sept. 14. A Private Life releases in France on Nov. 26. Outside of TIFF, the movie does not yet have a theatrical release date in North America.
