Nikki Glaser predicts that Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce‘s engagement will have a major impact on their fans’ relationships.
While chatting with different outlets at the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday, Sept. 7, the comedian, 41 — who is a known Swift fanatic and spent nearly $100,000 attending 22 Eras Tour shows — shared her thoughts on the singer-songwriter and Kansas City Chiefs tight end’s engagement, which was announced on Instagram Aug. 26.
“I woke up from a nap and my phone was blown up. I thought someone had died,” Glaser recalled of her reaction to the couple’s viral engagement news to Entertainment Tonight. “It’s the best news.”

She continued: “I’m not one to say I saw it coming, but it’s just very obvious to me that this was going to be lasting forever. And after watching that interview on New Heights, it’s just — that’s the kind of guy that you want your best friend to be with. So as someone who just feels like they’re friends with her parasocially, I mean I feel like every Swiftie couldn’t have been happier just to see her celebrated in that way and just shown off in that way. He’s obsessed with her, and that’s what every girl deserves, and every guy deserves.”
The FBoy Island host went on to say that Swift and Kelce, both 35, “worship” each other, but that their strong bond might make fans reevaulate their own standards for their romantic relationships.
“I think it’s gonna ruin some relationships, to be honest,” Glaser said. “Because I think a lot of people watched that and were like, ‘I deserve that. I deserve that type of enthusiasm, and I deserve that kind of person who celebrates me in that way.’ I think there’s a lot of people watching it like, ‘Maybe I deserve better.’ ”
“Taylor’s always kind of raised the bar for young women of what we feel like we need and deserve, and can do in this lifetime,” she added. “So I think even romantically, she’s raising the bar. I’m so happy for her.”

At the New York event, the Golden Globes host also spoke with E! News and shared what she envisions the “Cruel Summer” singer and the professional football player doing for their wedding.
“I think it’s gonna be big,” she predicted. “It has to be. It’s all been leading to this.”
However, Glaser also wouldn’t be surprised if Swift decides to keep her wedding out of the spotlight because she’s always in the public eye.
“She gets to be a bride every day. Every day is her birthday,” she explained. “I always think I don’t want a wedding because I’m always getting attention, and I don’t need that. I don’t even think it’s about that for her. I just think she wants to celebrate with all her family and friends, and she’s got a lot of them. I look forward to the helicopter photos that will ruin her day somehow by hovering above.”
“I hope she gets married in some kind of like protected dome,” she added. “I hope it’s just a private, lovely day for her. She deserves it.”
