Jason Bateman Makes Rare Appearance with His 2 Daughters at TIFF

Jason Bateman had his daughters by his side at the premiere of his new movie.

On Sunday, Sept. 7, the actor, 56, was photographed attending the premiere of his new movie Black Rabbit at the Toronto International Film Festival and posed next to his two daughters — Francesca, 18, and Maple, 13 — as well as his wife, Amanda Anka, on the red carpet.

In the photo, Bateman wore a gray button-up shirt, posing next to his daughter Francesca. The 18-year-old opted for a sheer black dress, posing with her arm around her sister, who wore a brown satin dress. Their mom, Anka, posed next to them, wearing a black vest top and black pants.

Back in August, Bateman shared that aside from him and his wife, his daughters also receive a lot of support from their friends — including the actor’s frequent collaborator, Jennifer Anniston.

Bateman spoke with Vanity Fair for their recent story on the Friends star and shared that Aniston is very close with his two daughters. In fact, Bateman said Aniston is more of a “co-mom” with Anka than just a friend or aunt.

“She almost makes us parents look bad because she’s so incredibly attentive and consistent with her curiosity and warmth,” the Arrested Development alum told the outlet of Aniston, whom he met while costarring on a ’90s sitcom with her friend.

“She’s the first one to call or text about big dates in the girls’ lives. She has questions about boyfriends,” he continued.

When he’s asked if she’s an aunt to his daughters, Bateman said, “Aunts you might not see all the time. She’s almost closer to a co-mom with Amanda. She’s been a part of their lives from the moment they were born.”

“It is odd for them to even understand the public Jennifer Aniston,” he added.

Even though Bateman and his wife prefer to keep their family life private, the actor and his daughter Maple were spotted sitting courtside at a Los Angeles Lakers game in May 2023, hanging out alongside Jason Sudeikis, and his son Otis.

For the outing, the Ozark star dressed casually in a pair of gray jeans and a navy denim jacket, which he paired with a purple Lakers cap. His daughter looked sporty chic in a pair of cream joggers, a black T-shirt and basketball sneakers.
