Angelina Jolie Recreates Iconic Oscars Pose from 2012 While at 2025 TIFF

Angelina Jolie still has legs for days.

On Sunday, Sept. 7, the 50-year-old actress stepped out for the 2025 Toronto International Film Festival premiere of her film Couture in a leggy ensemble that harkened back to her memorable appearance at the 2012 Oscars.

Jolie opted for a floor-length brown double-breasted coat. The buttons stopped at her waist, creating a sultry thigh-high slit that allowed her leg to peek through. The star added sheer nylons and a pair of simple pumps.

Red carpet enthusiasts may be reminded of Jolie’s similarly leg-baring look at the 84th Annual Academy Awards, where she wore a black Atelier Versace gown with a dramatic slit and posed with her leg stretched out. She also sported a voluminous hairstyle and bold red lipstick.

The dress wowed on the carpet and then again when she took the Oscars stage to present the award for Best Adapted Screenplay.

The actress reflected on the now-iconic Oscars look while speaking with Extra at the 2019 premiere of her movie Maleficent: Mistress of Evil. 

“There’s a whole longer story behind that,” she told the outlet of the gown. “I had a more complicated dress and I wore the more comfortable dress, which was that one, and I think I was just so comfortable that…”

Jolie added, “I think when you feel comfortable, when you feel yourself — which is very much the theme of the film, and we know this in life — you embrace it. And sometimes, maybe it appears to be a thing, I don’t know.”

By the end of the awards show, Jolie’s leggy display had gone viral. An X handle called @AngiesRightLeg gained over 14,000 followers in one day, boasting anonymously pinned posts like, “Look at meeee!!” and “You have to admit I’m one hell of a leg.”

Jolie recently debuted another shocking style moment.

Last week, the actress was seen on set in London for her new film, Anxious People, sporting a light blonde bob — a drastic change from her usual long brunette locks, though in recent months she’s shifted towards a lighter hue.

In addition to her new hair, Jolie sported a long white wrap top, flowy capri pants, a muted red lip and a bold gold brooch for her role in the film.

Anxious People, which Deadline reported is also starring Aimee Lou Wood and Jason Segel, is based on Fredrik Backman’s 2019 novel by the same name. Marc Forster will direct, while Backman and David Magee will serve as screenwriters.

“On the day before Christmas Eve, investment banker Zara begrudgingly finds herself mingling with a group of strangers at an open house,” the movie’s synopsis reads, per Deadline. “When a reluctant bank robber, Grace, inadvertently takes the group hostage, chaos and oversharing ensues, secrets are revealed, and literally nothing goes according to plan.”
