Julianne Hough vividly recalls what she considers to be one of her most “cringe” moments to date.
On Friday, Sept. 5, the Dancing with the Stars cohost, 37, appeared as a guest on the Chicks in the Office podcast, where she and the hosts revisited one of her least favorite televised moments.
During their three-person conversation, Hough was asked about interviewing Timothée Chalamet as a red carpet correspondent at the 2025 Oscars in March.
As soon as the topic came up, the professional dancer dropped her head and let out a laugh.
“The most cringe moment of my life, thank you,” Hough said, returning to an upright position. She also admitted that the Dune star, 29, seemed confused by their brief discussion at the time.
“Do you have any, like, dance moves that you go to? Like, a go-to?” she asked the actor in a clip of the interaction that was edited into a TikTok video of the podcast taping.
Taking a beat, Chalamet replied, “Um, do you?”
Hough assured him that she always had “a little body roll, body roll action” ready as she acted the moves out.
The podcast cohosts said when fans saw the interview, their initial reactions were along the lines of “what a random question” and “going nuts.” However, they agreed that since Hough is a dancer, it “was the most fitting question.”

She and Chalamet talked about “spinal adjustments” from her body rolls, and after a brief pause, the A Complete Unknown star simply replied, “Okay, facts, fair,” followed by her wrapping up the interview.
Critiquing her time on the carpet with Chalamet, Hough said, “Oh my gosh, that truly, that was horrible.”
“But you know what? Whatever. It was something that people talked about,” she continued. “And I always say, ‘You know what? Be cringe. You’re at least putting yourself out there. Whatever.’ ”

Chalamet made history as becoming the Oscars’ youngest two-time Best Actor nominee since James Dean after earning a nod for playing Bob Dylan in A Complete Unknown. The Marty Supreme actor was previously nominated for the same award at the 90th Oscars in 2018 for Call Me By Your Name.
The 2025 Best Actor award went to Adrien Brody won for his role in The Brutalist. However, Chalamet still made many people proud.

“Well, pal, you’ve earned your keep and the recognition of your artistry in bringing humanity to life with wit and passion and grace,” his high school drama teacher, Harry Shifman, said to his former student in a video obtained by Access Hollywood and shown to Chalamet that night.
“Take it all in, feel it and bring us more,” Shifman added, “and always remember as Bob Dylan once said, ‘Keep a good head and always carry a lightbulb.’ Blessings, pal.”
