Blake Lively Embraces Sheer Fall Fashion for N.Y.C. Event While Ryan Reynolds Attends TIFF

Blake Lively embraced the sheer trend at a beauty event in New York City on Friday, Sept. 5, while Ryan Reynolds attended the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF).

Lively, 38, wore a completely see-through brown chain mail top paired with a matching chocolate brown pleated skirt and blazer. She completed the look with a pair of knee-high brown suede boots with button details on the sides and a black, white, and brown geometric clutch. Her blonde locks were swept to the side in loose waves.

The Gossip Girl alum appeared at a Glossy Pop N.Y.C. event titled “Reimagining Premium Haircare: From Accessibility to Routine, How Blake Brown is Innovating a Buzzy Category.” The event was held at the Katie Murphy Amphitheater at the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT).

On her Instagram Stories, Lively gave a shoutout to Megababe founder Katie Sturino. “@katiesturino the founder of one of my favorite brands @megababe staying to cheer me on at the @glossyco pnel speaking about my passion and goals for haircare with @blakebrownbeauty is what girls lifting each other up looks like. I love and appreciate you @katiesturino as a founder, as a woman, and as a friend,” the actress wrote on the photo, which featured a moment from her speech.

Lively launched Blake Brown, a haircare and beauty brand, in 2024, on the heels of the release of It Ends With Us. The brand also debuted a hair and body mist in May. At the time, Reynolds, 48, shared the new launch on his Instagram Stories.

In response, Lively gave her husband a shoutout, calling him “the best and most supportive husband.”

“He legitimately uses [the products]. His favorite is the Wild Nectar Sandal [scent]. I thought he was just being the best and most supportive husband, but he genuinely loves to wear them,” she wrote on her Instagram Stories at the time, adding that the mists smell “so yummy and sexy” on him.

Reynolds appeared at TIFF on Thursday, Sept. 4, for the premiere of the documentary John Candy: I Like Me, which he co-produced. The documentary features exclusive interviews with a number of Candy’s friends and former co-stars, including Macaulay Culkin, with whom he starred in Uncle Buck and Steve Martin, with whom he starred in Planes, Trains, and Automobiles.

John Candy: I Like Me is on Prime Video Oct. 10.

The couple’s outings come after Blake Lively‘s spokesperson denied Megyn Kelly‘s claims that Lively’s legal team issued a subpoena to Kelly amid the ongoing legal battle with Justin Baldoni on Aug. 29.

The former Fox News host, 54, claimed to have been “targeted” by a subpoena from Lively’s attorneys, but “we gave her absolutely nothing.”

However, a spokesperson for Lively said in a statement to PEOPLE Aug. 29, “At no point in this litigation has Ms. Lively served a subpoena on Megyn Kelly.”
