Adams defiantly insists he’s staying in NYC mayoral race while ripping Andrew Cuomo, Zohran Mamdani

Mayor Eric Adams defiantly vowed to stay in New York City’s mayoral race Friday as rumors swirled that he’s up for a potential cushy job in President Trump’s administration.

“I’m running and I’m going to beat [Zohran] Mamdani,” he said outside Gracie Mansion.

A stern Adams kicked off his barely five-minute news conference by firing shots at his rivals former Gov. Andrew Cuomo and Mamdani, referring to both as “spoiled brats” born with silver spoons in their mouths.

“Andrew Cuomo is a snake and a liar,” Adams said. “I am in this race, and I’m the only one who can beat Mamdani. Andrew has had a career of pushing black candidates out of races.”

Trump and White House officials have been maneuvering to thin the crowded, four-candidate field of mayoral candidates in an attempt to thwart the frontrunner socialist Mamdani’s election.

Cuomo, who is polling in second place, is viewed by the president as the best chance to beat Mamdani – provided it’s a one-on-one contest.
