Fans hungry for Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes’s steakhouse can satiate their cravings with a first look at the menu.
The Kansas City Chiefs teammates’ highly anticipated steakhouse, 1587 Prime, is opening on Wednesday, Sept. 17. PEOPLE has an exclusive peek into the Kansas City-based restaurant’s offerings, including all the references to Taylor Swift, the four-time Super Bowl winning team, Brittany Mahomes and more Easter eggs.
The steakhouse, called 1587 Prime in reference to both Mahomes and Kelce’s jersey numbers, is a partnership between the NFL stars and the co-founders of Noble 33 restaurant group, Mikey Tanha and Tosh Berman. Berman told PEOPLE of the collaboration, “From conception to execution, we’ve really valued their input but overall they’ve trusted us to execute a concept at the same level as our other restaurants that they know and love.”

“The guys wanted to let us curate the menu based on some of their favorite dishes at our existing restaurants,” Tanha told PEOPLE, explaining that they all wanted to “pay homage” to the city and the team.
The steakhouse doesn’t have any sourdough or homemade Pop-Tarts, but there are nods to Kelce’s songstress fiancée.

“The Alchemy” is one of four cocktails under “The Players” category of the menu (also including “Showtime,” “Big Yeti,” and “Queen B”) and pays homage to the pop star. “The Alchemy” could be named after the song on Swift’s album The Tortured Poets Department, which has been widely speculated to reference Kelce. The love song references another beverage — “This happens once every few lifetimes / These chemicals hit me like white wine,” — but this offering is a fruity vodka drink with slices of cucumber and rose garnishes.
“Queen B” is famously associated with Beyoncé but, in this context, is a shoutout to Brittany. The lychee and honey vodka drink sounds right up the mother of three’s alley as she recently celebrated her 30th birthday with her close friends (including the “Lover” singer!) and a spread of lychee martinis.

Tahra and Berman confirmed that Brittany and Swift came to 1587 Prime when the space was under construction and again “just a couple of weeks ago.”
On first look at the cocktail menu, one could think that “Showtime” — a mix of coconut, coffee and rum — could be referring to Swift’s upcoming album, The Life of a Showgirl. But it is actually referring to the quarterback’s lifelong nickname given to him by his father, “Showtime.”

“Big Yeti” refers to Kelce’s nickname, which has a humorous origin. He and brother Jason Kelce joked about the name in an episode of their podcast, New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce. They recalled how when he would play “shirts and skins” basketball games in Cincinnati, Travis had “the big beard, I had the long hair. I had the chest hair, back hair, arm hair, leg hair. It’s just a big ole Yeti out there, man. All the homies on the court were calling me ‘Big Yeti.'”
The “Red Sea” cocktail and “The Big Red” Wagyu burger may set off alarm bells for Swifties, but there are other explanations for the names outside of Swift’s 2012 album, Red.
Tanha confirmed that the burger is in reference to head coach Andy Reid. Reid’s nickname is “Big Red” because of the red hair and mustache he had when he was younger, according to CNN. Beyond the longtime name, Reid has a well-documented love of cheeseburgers, he’s even referred to himself as a “cheeseburger connoisseur.”

Plus, the Chiefs fans are referred to as the Red Sea, because of the crowds of red jerseys.
Other beverages have ties to the football team and the city, like the whiskey-based “Jet Chip Wasp” is a direct call to football: the drink has the same name as Patrick’s Super Bowl-winning move in 2020.

The “Power & Light” drink might refer to Kansas City’s Power & Light district. The downtown neighborhood is considered an entertainment hub and hosts fans at outdoor viewing parties for Chiefs games. The “Heartland Highball” and “Paris of the Plains” cocktails also seem to be inspired by the Midwest city.

One thing that was a must-have on the menu? Plenty of ketchup. “The ketchup flight was also something we knew we had to incorporate based on Patrick’s affinity for the condiment,” Tanha explained. Plus, the restaurateurs put Whipped Ricotta on the menu because the Mahomes told them they loved a similar dish served at Noble 33’s Sparrow Italia in Miami.

The menu is packed with steakhouse classics, like a wedge salad, jumbo lump crab cakes, French onion soup and shrimp cocktail. Outside of the go-to steakhouse items, 1587 Prime offers a gold leaf-covered Wagyu katsu sandwich (a “must-try” according to Tahna), hot honey and wasabi-flavored fried chicken and black truffle fettuccine, among many others.
Of course, the steaks are the “obvious favorite” to Tahna. Fans can choose between nine cuts of steaks and add lobster tails, crab and bone marrow on top. Five compound butters and six sauces — including the “Mahomes ketchup flight” — are available, too, along with sides like a twice baked potato and lobster macaroni and cheese. Plus, guests looking for a show can order their steak with a brandy-fueled table-side flambé of herbs and bone marrow butter.
