Wedding Guest Charged with Assault After Allegedly Punching Bride

A bride was allegedly punched in the face by one of her wedding guests on her big day.
John Cianci of Mercer County, Pennsylvania, has been charged with assault and other charges in connection with the alleged wedding attack last week, according to the criminal complaint obtained by CBS News.
The wedding took place on Friday, Aug. 29, at The Woods at Eisler Farms in Connoquenessing Township in Butler County. During the festivities, Cianci allegedly became “extremely angry and violent” after he was “cut off” from alcohol, police said.

A witness added that Cianci hit the bride in the face with a “round house” style punch, knocking her to the ground as a result.
Following his first punch, Cianci, who was described as “extremely irate,” allegedly punched three other people who tried to subdue him, according to the criminal complaint, which noted that his violent actions caused injuries to the victims, plus “public inconvenience, annoyance and alarm” to other partygoers.

Cianci is currently awaiting his next court appearance after he was charged with four counts of simple assault, four counts of disorderly conduct, four counts of harassment and one count of public drunkenness. He was released on $5,000 bail.
