Reed Krakoff wants $49.5M for his glassy Hamptons home

Fashion designer and creative director Reed Krakoff has listed his eye-catching oceanfront Hamptons beach house for $49.5 million.

The modern six-bedroom residence is 7,200 square feet and sits on 2.8 acres, with 200 feet on the ocean in Amagansett — where celebs including Gwyneth Paltrow, Scarlett Johansson, Sarah Jessica Parker and Paul McCartney own homes.

The listing was first reported by Behind the Hedges

Built in 2023, the dwelling consists of three glass-walled pavilions above a ground floor — by architects Thomas Phifer and Partners. The gated glass, steel and concrete home is next door to a nature reserve, meaning privacy is guaranteed.

Reed, who made his name reviving Coach, is currently the creative chair at the jewelry company John Hardy. He was formerly chief artistic officer at Tiffany & Co., and once had his own eponymous brand. His wife Delphine is an Elle Decor A-List interior designer.

The first cube holds the open chef’s kitchen, living and dining areas. Another features the main bedroom suite, with a sitting area and ensuite spa-like bath, while the third features a library. All three glass boxes open to the terrace, which faces a pool. Five guest rooms are on the main floor. There’s also a gym and garage on the property.

Outside, the pool is surrounded by wood decking and a glass partition-style fence. A path leads down to the beath.

The interiors “emphasize handmade, artisanal and textural elements,” Delphine told Elle DecorThe Krakoffs commissioned artist Richard Long to do a mud installation on the wall with an “organic feel” that is a “counterpoint to the architecture,” Delphine said, adding that furnishings — like a George Nakashima live-edge table and a Joris Laarman chaise — are also part of the vision.

The land — a combination of two tear-down homes at 55 and 61 Dune Road — was formerly owned by Antoine Verglas, known for snapping nude shots of Melania Trump in 2000 before she married President Donald Trump. His properties had been on the market as a family compound last asking $12.5 million in 2018. Krakoff bought it for $10.5 million, according to records.

The Krakoffs once owned Lasata in East Hampton, where Jackie Kennedy Onassis spent her summers. They had purchased it for $20 million in 2007 and sold it in 2018 — the year they bought this newly listed compound — to film and TV producer David Zander, who in turn sold it to fashion designer Tom Ford for $52 million in 2023.

In the city, the Krakoffs sold their East 61st Street townhouse to Pink Floyd’s Roger Waters for $15 million in 2007, then sold their East 70th St. townhouse for $51 million in 2014. They also own a 52-acre property in New Canaan, Connecticut, which they bought from the estate of the late copper heiress Huguette Clark — it had been Clark’s “Cold War” retreat — for $14.3 million in 2014, after it had sat empty for 60 years. The Krakoffs listed that property, built in 1937, last year for $25.5 million.

Hedgerow Exclusive Properties has the Amagansett listing.
