While her pilot husband is away on the job, Hailey Frances remains assured that all is well when he keeps up one key habit.

The content creator gave her followers some insight into her relationship dynamic earlier this year, when she posted a TikTok alongside her husband, Jason. In the video, Hailey asked him to recall what he would consider the “one rule” she asks him to follow when flying.

“The only thing I care about when you’re on trips for a couple of days,” she explained after Jason hesitated to come up with an answer. Smiling, she noted that she’s a “very low-maintenance pilot wife.”

“I had so many things I could say … I don’t think any of them are appropriate,” he admitted, though he proceeded to express his belief that Hailey is only really concerned about one thing: his safety.

“If I fly a red eye, you like me to text you, even though you’re asleep,” Jason guessed, and Hailey confirmed his answer was correct. She added that such late-night messages usually come in while her phone is on “sleep mode.” But even though she won’t get the notification immediately, she appreciates having his note in the morning.

They both recalled a time when Jason failed to confirm his arrival, which left Hailey slightly “worried” and “concerned.” She concluded, “I just like to see that you ended up safe and sound wherever you needed to be.”

In the video’s caption, Hailey asked fellow pilot spouses to comment on any of their own rules, playfully noting that she might want to borrow viewers’ ideas to apply in her own relationship. One reply shared a simple set of expectations, writing, “Aviate, navigate, communicate, in that order.”

Other partners commented with some stricter guidelines, including someone who asks that her husband not drink while on the road. Another commenter said she asks for her partner to turn on his “read receipts and tracking” so she can know when he’s in flight or where he’s located while away.
