Tame Impala can’t be tamed.
Kevin Parker’s psychedelic rock group just announced a short North American tour in support of his forthcoming fifth studio album “Deadbeat” which hits shelves on Oct. 17.
And, to kick off the run, the Grammy winner will headline back-to-back nights at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center. The shows go down Friday, Oct. 31 and Saturday, Nov. 1.
After that, the Aussie icon only has six more concerts booked as of now. They’ll go down at:

Austin’s Moody Center (Nov. 6)
San Diego’s Pechanga Arena (Nov. 9)
Los Angeles’ Kia Forum (Nov. 11)

Prior to this quick trek, Tame Impala performed twice in Barcelona this past June. The first was a DJ set that was part of the Primavera Festival but the second surprise spot after the fest’s conclusion found him delivering a quick five songs at the local Nitsa Club.
At the pop-up show, he debuted “End of Summer,” the lead single from “Deadbeat.” Parker, 39, also delivered classic tracks “Let It Happen” and “Tomorrow’s Dust” (from his most recent record, 2020’s “The Slow Rush”) along with his Gorillaz collaboration “New Gold” and Grammy-winning “Neverender.”
“…the thumping, house-inspired track [‘End of Summer’]…seems to split the difference between the most upbeat modes of Tame Impala’s last album, 2020’s ‘The Slow Rush,’ and his dance pop-centered production work for the likes of Dua Lipa and Mark Ronson,” Consequence wrote. “It’s not exactly a ‘Tame Impala-goes-full-EDM’ pivot, though, with psychedelic synths cascading throughout the song and a bumping bassline beneath.”
Before that one-off gig, Parker last toured in 2022-23 in support of “The Slow Rush.” On that tour, he performed at the Barclays Center twice.

Tame Impala new music
Ahead of the Oct. 17 “Deadbeat” release, Tame Impala has released two singles.
Up first, the jittery, breakbeat “End of Summer” — alluded to above — is a hypnotic piece of piece that toes the line of indie rock, EDM, pop and full-on stadium anthem. It’s groovy, mean, lean and a heckuva good time.
“Loser,” the second single, is a classic funky, Tame Impala track. Introspective lyrics and tight, trippy yet tropical instrumentals meld together to create another groovy entry in his canon.
