Jessica Chastain’s two children make rare public appearance at actress’ Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony
Jessica Chastain’s kids made a rare public appearance to support the actress at her Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony.
The “Zero Dark Thirty” star was joined by daughter Giulietta, 7, and son Augustus, 5, while receiving her coveted star in Los Angeles on Thursday.
Chastain’s children, whom she shares with husband Gian Luca Passi De Preposulo, did not pose for photos at the event, but received a sweet shout-out from their mom as she accepted the honor.
“I want to thank my family, Gian Luca. I want to thank my kids — my everything,” she said, adding, “This honor belongs to all of you.”
Chastain, 48, closed out her speech by acknowledging how her kids have had a major impact on her success.
“To my children, thank you for the way you move through the world — curious, fearless, [and] full of whys, so many whys, reminding me every day to keep learning and keep wondering,” she said.
The “Help” star wore a stunning navy gown by Jonathan Cohen and accessorized with Damiani diamond earrings for the special occasion.
The star was presented to Chastain by Viola Davis and Al Pacino.
Chastain is known for keeping her two kids out of the spotlight — though she did touch on her daughter’s hopes and dreams in a 2022 interview with Marie Claire.
“Normally, I never talk about my personal life. But I had a conversation with my daughter not that long ago,” Chastain divulged. “And when you’re talking to kids it’s like, ‘What do you want to be when you grow up?’ ‘I want to be a ballerina.’ And she was like, ‘I want to be a mama.’”
Chastain recalled telling her daughter that she could be “more than one thing” when she grows up.
“I said, ‘Well, look at me, honey. I’m a mama. I’m an actress. I’m a producer. I’m a business owner. I’m a friend. I’m a cook.’ I started listing all these things,” she said. “Like, I am many things, so you can be whatever you want.”
The Academy Award nominee remembered her daughter being surprised by the notion that she doesn’t need to go down just one path.
“You can be the president. You can be a ballerina. You can be a mama. And it was so shocking for her to hear all of this,” she said.
Chastain and her husband welcomed their daughter via surrogate in 2018 and their son two years later.
The couple, who started dating in 2012, tied the knot in 2017.
