The way to Jamie Lee Curtis‘ heart is through her stomach.

The actress, 66, appeared on Stephen Colbert’s The Late Show on Sept. 3, where she revealed the one and only food her husband, Christopher Guest, knows how to make for her — and it’s the one most dear to her heart.

When Colbert asked Curtis her favorite sandwich, she promptly replied, “peanut butter and jelly.”

“It is the only thing Christopher Guest knows how to make,” she announced proudly. “And it is our love language.”

Curtis and Guest wed in a rainy afternoon ceremony in December 1984 and are approaching their 41st wedding anniversary this December. The couple share two daughters together, Annie, 38, and Ruby, 29, and have supported each other’s acting and screenwriting careers throughout the years.

On their milestone 40th anniversary in 2024, Curtis penned a heartfelt tribute to her husband and reflected on how they’ve nurtured their marriage all these years. She included two photos: one of them holding hands on their wedding day and one more recent photo of her and Guest’s shadows, again holding hands.

“We loved each other but barely knew each other,” Curtis wrote of her wedding day. “Today, we know each other really well and still love each other.”

“We held hands that day as we walked back down the aisle and we’re still holding hands today,” she concluded the post. “I guess the beginning of ‘my hand in yours.’ The long and winding road.”
