Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are already getting band offers for their forthcoming nuptials.
On Wednesday, Sept. 3, Foreigner made a “formal offer” on Instagram to perform at the engaged couple’s wedding.
“Dear Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce, we know what love is,” the British rockers wrote in an “open letter” featuring orange lettering and a mint green background that mirrored The Life of a Showgirl color scheme. “We spent 40 years figuring it out… and now you guys have too. Please accept this as our formal offer to be your wedding band. Best wishes, Foreigner.”
“An open letter to @taylorswift and @killatrav…,” Foreigner captioned the post.
Foreigner has only one No. 1 Billboard hit — “I Want To Know What Love Is” — the lead single from their 1984 album Provocateur. Over the years, the track has been covered by several artists, including Wynonna Judd and Mariah Carey, who shared it as a single from her 2009 album Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel.
Swift and Travis, both 35, became engaged in August 2023.
The pair announced their engagement in a joint post on Instagram with several photos from their floral-filled garden proposal on Aug. 26.
“Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married 🧨,” the “Cruel Summer” artist captioned the post.
The Kansas City Chiefs tight end proposed with an “old mine brilliant cut” ring he designed with Kindred Lubeck of Artifex Fine Jewelry, which was showcased in the snaps.
One week after the couple announced their engagement, Travis opened up about the happy news on the Wednesday, Sept. 3 episode of his podcast, New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce.
His brother Jason Kelce initially brought up the topic, saying, “Travis, we gotta talk about it,” to which Travis jokingly replied, “I don’t think we do.”
“In case you missed the Instagram post heard ’round the world, Travis and Taylor are engaged! Yay!” Jason, 37, said.
Travis smiled and shared his gratitude for the podcast episode the week prior before replying, “That’s right, that’s right. And I appreciate everybody that reached out and sent something and all the posts and all the excitement that’s been going on. It’s been really fun telling everybody who I’m going to be spending the rest of my life with.”
Jason then asked his younger brother how everything has been since his engagement announcement
“Exciting, it’s been awesome,” Travis replied, noting that he’s loved calling Swift his fiancée.
