Who Is Michelle Dockery’s Husband? All About Jasper Waller-Bridge

Michelle Dockery found love again with her husband, Jasper Waller-Bridge.

The actress is best known for her role as Lady Mary Crawley in Downton Abbey. She was previously engaged to commercial public relations executive John Dineen, who died from a rare form of cancer in December 2015. Dockery told The Guardian at the time that she considered herself a widow as she and Dineen were “married at heart.”

In 2019, Dockery was introduced to Waller-Bridge, a producer and music manager, by mutual friends. The pair announced their engagement in January 2022 and wed the following year in an intimate London ceremony.

The couple are currently expecting their first child together. The actress announced her pregnancy at the world premiere of Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale in September 2025, where she debuted a baby bump on the red carpet alongside her husband.

He’s a producer and music manager

Waller-Bridge works as a film and television producer as well as a music manager. He was previously the creative development director of the global talent management company YMU Group, and a record executive at Island Records and Sony Music. Waller-Bridge was also the manager for singer Louis Tomlinson, a former member of One Direction.

In 2020, Waller-Bridge and Dockery founded a film and TV production company called Day One Pictures. The company largely focuses on music projects and produced the 2024 Disney+ mini series Camden, per the Day One Pictures LinkedIn. 

He and Dockery announced their engagement in The Times

In January 2022, Dockery and Waller-Bridge announced their engagement news in the “Births, marriages and deaths” section of the U.K.’s The Times.

“The engagement is announced between Jasper, son of Michael Waller-Bridge of King’s Lynn, Norfolk, and Teresa Waller-Bridge of Battersea, London, and Michelle, younger daughter of Michael and Lorraine Dockery of Gidea Park, Essex,” the announcement read.

The pair met in 2019 through mutual friends and made their first public appearance together that year at the Rome Film Festival, where Dockery was promoting her film, Downton Abbey.

He has two sisters

Waller-Bridge is the younger brother of Fleabag creator Phoebe Waller-Bridge. The two also have an older sister named Isobel, who is a music composer.

During a June 2019 interview with The Guardian, Phoebe opened up about the negative impact the success of Fleabag had on her family.

“Because it’s about family and everything, my family suddenly experienced this really intense focus from people in their lives, and people asking about the show and asking about me, and one of my regrets is I wish I’d seen that coming,” she said. “The people closest to me didn’t invite that and there’s so much over-familiarity that comes with that: people assuming that Iso is like Claire.”

Phoebe added, “And also people just assuming that so much of it is true. That bleeds into my family’s life when the show’s going out because, weirdly, they are having to defend our family.”

He married Dockery in 2023

Dockery and Waller-Bridge tied the knot at St Nicholas’ church in Chiswick, West London, on Sept. 23, 2023. The guest list included the actress’ Downton Abbey costars Lily James and Laura Carmichael, as well as Phoebe and her partner Martin MacDonagh.

Dockery wore a ​​white satin dress by Emilia Wickstead and a tulle veil for their nuptials, while Waller-Bridge opted for a navy blue suit. Before the ceremony, guests were reportedly invited to a pre-wedding hangout at the local George and Devonshire pub.

He’s attended a few red carpet events with Dockery

While neither Docker nor Waller-Bridge has spoken publicly about their relationship, the couple have attended a few events together. They made their red carpet debut at the London premiere of Anatomy of a Scandal in April 2022 and were photographed at the BFI Chairman’s Dinner in February 2024.

In September 2025, Waller-Bridge joined his wife at the world premiere of Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale in London, England.
