Kyra Sedgwick and Kevin Bacon are easily one of Hollywood’s most beloved couples.
The long-term couple first met while working on Lemon Sky back in 1987 and quickly fell in love. By December that year, the pair were engaged and went on to tie the knot on Sept. 4, 1988. Sedgwick and Bacon expanded their family as they welcomed their firstborn, Travis, nine months after they tied the knot.
The Closer actress revealed the decision to start a family sort of happened by impulse during their honeymoon. “We were like, ‘Let’s just not use birth control,'” she recalled to More magazine in 2010. “I didn’t think it was going to happen so fast. I got pregnant in two weeks.”
Travis was born on June 23, 1989. Baby sister Sosie would complete their family as she arrived on March 15, 1992.
With over 30 years of marriage under their belt, the couple shared the secret to their long-lasting union with PEOPLE back in 2023.
“A sense of humor is crucial,” said Sedgwick. “He is very freaking funny.” For Bacon, it’s even simpler than that. “To me, walking down the street together just shooting the s— in the middle of the night still feels like a nice place to be,” he said.
