Ricky Martin’s Ex Jwan Yosef Gives a Candid Look at Co-Parenting

Ricky Martin’s ex Jwan Yosef is offering some rare insight into how he co-parents with the Puerto Rican singer.

Speaking with Attitude in a new interview, Yosef shared that two years after their divorce, the former couple has found a good rhythm in their co-parenting dynamic. Martin, who is dad to four, shares his two younger kids — daughter Lucia, 6, and son Renn, 5 – with Yosef.

“We’ve actually had the most wonderful relationship,” said Yosef. “It’s a very solid and calm co-parenting situation. We live 10 minutes away from each other. We speak every day. We love our kids so much.”

He went on to add, “It’s been an extremely lovely kind of experience. It’s not an experience — it’s a way of living.”

Yosef continued, saying that the co-parenting with his ex has been particularly meaningful for him as he’s understanding his own identity better.

“It’s been the most amazing thing to be a queer man in our society today to raise these kids into a pretty amazing awareness,” he said. “This is a conversation I have with my kids every other day explaining how different families look. It’s educational for them, but it also really puts things into context for myself as a parent.”

Although things seem good between Yosef and Martin, the 40-year-old does admit that parenting can be “stressful” at times.

“It’s super fun and glorious and I wouldn’t have it any other way, but it’s also the most stressful thing [and] the most rewarding thing at the same time,” he explained. “They give you nothing sometimes; they give you everything sometimes!”

“It’s a whole spectrum of emotions. It’s the craziest thing I’ve ever done in my life, and I’ve had nothing but respect for my own parents since I had my kids.”

Alongside the two kids he shares with Yosef, Martin is also dad to twin sons Matteo and Valentino, 16.

Back in January, Martin shared a series of photos on his Instagram, which included a rare look at his two younger kids Lucia and Renn as they spent time together on a beach.

In the photo, Martin could be seen wearing a hat that reads “787” and cuddling his two young kids, who were bundled in towels after going in the water.

“Simple days!” Martin wrote, adding, “#soNice.”
