Taylor Swift as a Super Bowl halftime performer? NFL commissioner Roger Goodell is ready for it.
In a guest spot on the Today show on Wednesday, Sept. 3, the league leader rolled out the welcome mat for the “Fortnight” singer, and said the newly engaged superstar is “welcome” to book a future engagement at the big game.
“We would always love to have Taylor play,” Goodell said. “She is a special, special talent. And obviously, she would be welcome at any time.”
When co-host Savannah Guthrie asked if it was “in the works” or a “maybe,” Goodell didn’t drop the ball.
“I can’t tell you anything about that,” he said. “It’s a maybe.”

Goodell then added that he was “waiting on my friend Jay-Z” to handle the logistics.
Jay-Z and Roc Nation’s partnership with the NFL began in 2019, and the rapper acts as the league’s “live music entertainment strategist” for the halftime show, Super Bowl producer Jesse Collins told Variety last year.
The halftime performer for Super Bowl LX is not yet known — but for the last edition, halftime performer Kendrick Lamar was announced in September 2024.
Currently, Swift’s focus is on her next LP, The Life of a Showgirl, which drops on Oct. 3. It features 12 tracks, a few alternative covers and a collaboration with friend and former Eras Tour opener, Sabrina Carpenter.
She’s also expected to be in the stands at Arrowhead Stadium cheering on fiancé Travis Kelce and his Kansas City Chiefs, as they aim to bounce back from their thrashing at Super Bowl LIX.
