Emily Blunt may be a busy woman, but she makes sure she’s home in time to tuck her kids into bed.

The actress, who is currently filming The Devil Wears Prada 2, spoke with PORTER magazine and shared that although she spends a large part of her day filming, she ensures that she’s home for bedtime with her two daughters, Hazel, 11, and Violet, 9, whom she shares with husband John Krasinski.

“Once my children start to find me repellent, once Mommy doesn’t reign supreme, I will do it, but I feel bedtime is this essential anchor,” says Blunt. “The 10-minute chats where they tell you everything — you don’t want to miss them.”

This past June, Blunt spoke with Entertainment Tonight at the American Institute for Stuttering’s 19th Annual Gala and was asked about the upcoming sequel to the iconic movie The Devil Wears Prada.

Blunt, who was careful not to reveal too much, did say that her daughters Hazel and Violet are excited to visit her on set. “I think they would quite like to go to set. Just for the fashion,” Blunt said of her girls.

“I know, they’re like Mary Schmoppins, this is like Devil Wears Prada. They’re all about it,” she joked.

While chatting with PEOPLE in 2023, Blunt revealed that despite its family-friendly nature, her 2021 film Jungle Cruise was a distressing watch for her little ones.

“They’ve only seen Jungle Cruise once,” the Oppenheimer actress said. “They didn’t like the underwater stuff where I’m trapped and I’m in peril.”

Upon seeing their mom in danger, the actress recalled, both Hazel and Violet “started crying” and “left the room.”

In general, she explained, “They don’t love watching me on-screen, which I understand because I’m their mommy and it’s very strange to see me play someone else.”
