Jessica and Ashlee Simpson, Ciara and More

The 2025 MTV VMAs will be especially star-studded.

On Tuesday, Sept. 2, MTV unveiled some of the celebrities set to present at this year’s Video Music Awards, including Jessica Simpson, Ashlee Simpson, Ciara and more. The network also revealed the performance lineup for the pre-show broadcast and Extended Play Stage.

EJAE, REI AMI and Audrey Nuna, who make up the fictional group Huntr/x from Netflix’s KPop Demon Hunters, are also on the list of 2025 MTV VMAs presenters alongside Drew Barrymore, Livvy Dunne, The Hunting Wives’ Brittany Snow and Malin Akerman, Meg Stalter, Nikki Glaser, Paris Hilton, Ice Spice and Latto.

During the ceremony, the VMAs Extended Play Stage, presented by Doritos, will see Bailey Zimmerman featuring The Kid LAROI, Lola Young and Megan Moroney take the stage for performances. Young, 24, will sing “Messy,” while Moroney, 27, will sing “6 Months Later.”

Ahead of the VMAs, the pre-show broadcast will be hosted by Nessa and Kevan Kenney with KATSEYE performing “Gnarly” and “Gabriela.”

The upcoming awards show, hosted by LL Cool J, will also feature performances from Lady Gaga, Sabrina Carpenter, Sombr, Alex Warren, J Balvin featuring DJ Snake, Post Malone, Doja Cat, Jelly Roll, Conan Gray and Tate McRae, among others.

Additional performers will include special honorees Mariah Carey, Ricky Martin and Busta Rhymes.

Carey, 56, will receive the Video Vanguard Award and perform a “show-stopping, career-spanning medley of her biggest hits,” per a press release.

In a recent interview with 93.5 KDAY, the Songbird Supreme said the award feels special because it’s her first-ever VMA. “When they said they were going to give me the Vanguard award, I was like ‘Okay, this is great,'” she said.

Busta, 53, will be honored with the MTV VMA Rock the Bells Visionary Award, and Martin, 53, will take home the Latin Icon Award.

Among this year’s nominees, Gaga led the pack with 12 nods, including Artist of the Year, Video of the Year and Song of the Year.

Bruno Mars, Kendrick Lamar, ROSÉ, Sabrina Carpenter, Ariana Grande, The Weeknd, Billie Eilish and Charli xcx are other top nominees.

The 2025 MTV VMAs air live from New York’s UBS Arena on Sunday, Sept. 7 at 8 p.m. ET on CBS and MTV. The ceremony will also stream on Paramount+.
