Ant Anstead Calls Girlfriend Renée Zellweger ‘the Missus’ on ‘Magical’ U.K. Trip

Ant Anstead is documenting his travels around England with girlfriend Renée Zellweger!

The British automotive expert, 46, shared an inside look at his and Zellweger’s tour around “the west country” in an Instagram post on Sunday, Aug. 31. While the Bridget Jones’s Diary star, 56, was not visible in the photos, Anstead let followers know that she joined him on the trip in his caption. 

“Taking the missus for a tour of the west country… Somerset, Devon and Cornwall,” he wrote. “We popped into Boscastle Pottery where I filmed a craft show some years ago…..! Of course we had to pick up some mugs to take home!”

He concluded the caption by adding, “This part of the UK is simply MAGICAL.” 

As the pair tend to keep their relationship private, Anstead rarely shares photos with Zellweger on social media.

The first slide shows the California-based automotive expert and TV host visiting Boscastle Pottery, where he filmed a segment for his show called Craft It Yourself in 2017. In the next few slides, Anstead included a look at some of the mugs he and Zellweger were eyeing in the pottery store to take home as a souvenir.

He also shared a few shots of the stunning scenery they got to enjoy during their trip, including a photo seemingly taken by Zellweger of Anstead posing with his arms outstretched. 

Another slide showed off the rocky landscape and serene water views. 

This is not the first time Anstead has referred to his girlfriend as “the missus.”

In November, he offered high praise for Zellweger’s acting skills while sharing the trailer for Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy on Instagram.

“The missus was busy being brilliant this summer….. she’s a bloomin Bridget genius!” Anstead wrote in the caption.

A few months later, Zellweger called Anstead her “fellow” during a January feature in British Vogue.

The actress was interviewed by her longtime Bridget Jones’s Diary costar Hugh Grant, during which he mentioned that he couldn’t remember where Zellweger lived. 

“I live in Southern California, near San Diego,” she answered. Sharing the reason why, she added, “Because that’s where my fellow lives, and his little boy,” referring to Anstead’s 5-year-old son Hudson, whom he shares with ex Christina Haack. 

Anstead also shares two older children, Archie and Amelie, with his first wife, Louise Storey.

In May, a representative for Anstead confirmed he and Zellweger were still in a “cherished relationship” despite reports that the pair were living apart. 

His rep stated that Anstead had been “spending the majority of his time working in the U.K.,” while Zellweger continued to film Only Murders in the Building in New York City. They added that the two “remain in a cherished relationship that they ask to keep private.”

Anstead and Zellweger first met on the set of his Discovery+ show, Celebrity IOU: Joyride, in April 2021. A few months later, PEOPLE confirmed the pair were officially in a relationship.

In September 2021, a source told PEOPLE that the actress was forming a close bond with Hudson, and she later sold her Los Angeles home in October 2021 to be closer to her boyfriend.

A different source revealed to PEOPLE in April 2023 that the couple had “found a house that they both love and are moving in together” after Anstead decided to sell his beloved Temple House in Laguna Beach, Calif., that same month. 

Anstead later joined Zellweger in England temporarily while she filmed Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy.
