McDonald’s Confirms Return Date for Extra Value Meals, Plus a Limited Discount

McDonald’s wants you to snag a deal!

The fast food establishment confirmed the return date for Extra Value Meals in a press release issued on Tuesday, Sept. 2. 

The food joint will be rolling out Extra Value Meals across the U.S. franchises starting on Monday, Sept. 8. There will be eight discounted meal options for breakfast, lunch and dinner, that will save customers 15% compared to purchasing the entree, fries and a drink individually. 

The Extra Value Meals will include the Sausage McMuffin with Egg, Sausage Egg & Cheese McGriddles, Egg McMuffin, Bacon, Egg and Cheese Biscuit, Big Mac, 10-piece Chicken McNuggets and any variety Quarter Pounder Burger or McCrispy Sandwich.

The Quarter Pounder varieties include Original, Bacon, or Deluxe, while the McCrispy Sandwiches come in Original, Deluxe, or Spicy Deluxe. 

McDonald’s will also offer discounts on two of the most popular Extra Value Meals for a limited time to celebrate the nationwide launch. The special deals include a $5 Sausage McMuffin with Egg meal, which comes with hash browns and a small coffee, or an $8 Big Mac meal that includes medium fries and a medium soft drink. 

“McDonald’s USA is laser-focused on delivering value and affordability for our customers, and I’m incredibly proud of how our franchisees and teams continue to step up to make it a reality,” said McDonald’s USA President Joe Erlinger in a statement.

“From the $5 Meal Deal to McValue and now Extra Value Meals, we’re sending a clear message: we’re here for our customers. McDonald’s will always be a place where you can get the food you love at a price that fits your life,” he added.

Danielle Marasco, owner/operator of McDonald’s of Laredo, Texas, emphasized the importance of “offering everyday affordable prices” to customers in a separate statement. 

“We’re working together to keep the menu items our customers love affordable for everyone in the communities we serve,” she said. 

McDonald’s teased future discounts to come, including $5 Sausage, Egg and Cheese McGriddles and $8 10-piece Chicken McNuggets meals in November. The chain also said it will be offering Snack Wraps for $2.99 through the end of the year. 

McDonald’s will also be bringing back Extra Value Meals in August, the Wall Street Journal reported.

McDonald’s has already started shaking up its menu for the fall. On Aug. 29, the fast food chain brought back its popular Pumpkin & Crème Pie, which includes a turnover-style crust with pumpkin pie on one side, crème on the other, and a sugar coating.

Over the summer, the fast food joint rolled out a Blueberry & Crème Pie, another take on the brand’s sleeved pie with layers of blueberries and vanilla crème.
