Winning Powerball numbers drawn for $1.1 billion jackpot

The $1.10 billion Powerball jackpot is up for grabs as lotto officials drew numbers for the fifth-largest prize in the game’s history Monday night.

The winning numbers are 8, 23, 25, 40, 53, and 5 as the Powerball.

Lottery officials are still tabulating results and have yet to announce if somebody’s Labor Day vacation will get an extension.

If a lucky ticket holder beats the 1 in 292 million odds, the winner can opt for a one time lump sum payment of $498.4 million — before taxes — or receive annuity payments of nearly $5 million dollars annually for over thirty years.

Lady luck has not been kind to Powerball players this year, with the last jackpot winner occurring on May 31.
