Nick Lachey Jokes About Touring with Boybands Before They’re in Wheelchairs (Exclusive)
NEED TO KNOW
- Nick Lachey of 98 Degrees is game for touring with other boybands — under one condition
- He’s also game for their own Las Vegas residency or participating in a boy band con
- The Love Is Blind and The Ultimatum host partnered with Purina One LiveClear to spread awareness about the brand’s new product
Nick Lachey is ready for a boy band takeover.
Speaking exclusively with PEOPLE and partnering with Purina ONE LiveClear, the 98 Degrees band member muses about teaming up with other boybands and hitting the road together while they still have the energy to perform.
When asked about potential collaborations, whether it be at Sphere in Las Vegas, where the Backstreet Boys have a residency, or a boyband convention, Lachey, 51, is down for “all of the above.”
“I saw AJ [McLean] when they were putting that show together and he shared some photos with me of what the graphics were going to be, and you could just tell then, even before it premiered, that it was going to be a special show,” he says.
“The Sphere is such a cool venue. They’re such an iconic band with so many great songs, and it’s just the perfect marriage.”

Lachey is also interested in a potential residency in Las Vegas. “If that ever happened, or it came to fruition, I’d be all about it. And yeah, if there’s a boyband con, I think is the word you used, let’s do it. There’s a lot of talk about that, about this monster tour that may happen and materialize.”
“We’d love to be a part of all of it. We were thrilled and honored to be a part of a very special time in music. And anytime we can celebrate that all over again, we jump at the chance,” he adds.
98 Degrees, made of Lachey, his brother Drew Lachey, Jeff Timmons and Justin Jeffre, are currently touring for their latest album, Full Circle, released in May.
When asked about performing with other boy bands, Lachey is game — under one condition. “I mean, before we’re all in wheelchairs, let’s get it together and get out there and give it one last hurrah,” he says.
“It would be truly special. I mean, it’d be a night for the ages. It’s something I hope comes together, but we’ll see. You never know.”
The Love Is Blind and The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On host teamed up with Purina ONE LiveClear to spread awareness about the pet brand’s new product and Purina’s LiveClear, Love Clear video series.
“I think pets can teach you so much about yourself and about each other. It really is a great way to become a parent without becoming a parent,” he tells PEOPLE about strong relationships between humans and their four-legged friends.

Purina’s new product can reduce the major allergen in cat hair and dander by an average of 47 percent starting in 21 days, per the product’s website.
“Relationships are hard enough, you know what I mean? They’re hard enough without having this complication and cat allergen sensitivities thrown into it. So to take that off the table, to me, it’s a game changer,” adds Lachey.
