Teachers unions spend big to promote far left orgs, wreck society
Unsatisfied with indoctrinating students in the latest “theories” on racial guilt and gender fluidity, America’s two main teachers unions also spend tens of millions in members’ dues on wrecking society more generally.
From 2022 to 2024, the National Education Association and American Federation of Teachers together gave more than $43 million to lefty and far-lefty outfits — including half a million to the notorious Sixteen Thirty Fund, the (per the left-leaning Atlantic magazine) “indisputable heavyweight of Democratic dark money.”
“Dark money” being unregulated, unreported political spending that lefties laughably pretend is overwhelmingly a right-wing menace.
Super-progressive journalist Taylor Lorenz recently exposed Sixteen Thirty’s secret payments of $8,000 a month to lefty social-media influencers to push Democrat Party messaging.
America’s teachers handed nearly $1 million to the John Podesta-founded and George Soros-funded Center for American Progress — widely recognized as the power center for the Obama and Biden administrations.
More dues went to The Trevor Project, the LGBT youth-oriented help group that gave Sam Brinton — the luggage-stealing Bidenite “nuclear waste expert” — his start in politics.
Funds went to fight gun rights, promote sex changes for kids and oppose all Republican judicial appointments.
Mind, all this cash just accounts for contributions that the unions made to issue-oriented organizations and a few PACs: It doesn’t count the hundreds of millions of dollars that the national unions and their state and local affiliates spend every election cycle.
Yet this is, at base, taxpayer money.
Sure, the teachers earned it before handing it on to the unions.
But they have almost no choice about that, as the unions use all their power to reserve teaching jobs for their dues-paying members — power that comes from the unions’ support for Democratic politicians (and any Republicans who’ll take their orders) who then give the unions the upper hand in contract negotiations and in writing the laws and regulations that govern education.
This all-corrupting impact of public-sector unionization is why no less than President Franklin Roosevelt — the patron saint of big-government liberals — warned that government workers shouldn’t be allowed to form traditional labor unions, because their “employer is the whole people.”
Teachers unions and the elected politicians they support financially are in a conspiracy against the taxpayer.
This knot of collusion may well destroy the republic if we don’t reform it.
