The actress noted that she’s overjoyed to be back in the U.K. and surrounded by her closest friends from childhood.
“Living in the States, I didn’t appreciate how much you need friends and family and how integral they are to your wellness until you’re away from them,” she continued. “I came back with an abundance of appreciation for them.”

Turner, whose new movie Trust came out on Aug. 22, also offered an inside look at some of the hobbies she enjoys doing when she has free time, including art and pottery painting.
She added, “One of my favorite ways to relax is to sit on a sofa with a good friend and gossip with a glass of wine. It’s the best.”
The interview comes after Turner got candid about the “media hell” she went through while appearing on an Aug. 14 episode of Late Night with Seth Meyers. During the show, she seemingly alluded to her divorce from Jonas and how filming Trust helped her deal with it at the time.
“I’m not sure if anyone’s aware, but when I started shooting this movie, I was going through, like, a media hell,” Turner told host Seth Meyers.
“So this was super cathartic because I wanted to run away in my real life when that was all happening,” she continued. “But I got to do it in a movie and I got to smash some s— up, so that was fun.”

Jonas and Turner wed in 2019 and were married for four years before news of their split went public.
The Jonas Brothers singer filed for divorce from Turner in September 2023, claiming in court documents that “the marriage between the parties is irretrievably broken.” Shortly after, the former couple issued a joint statement on social media, noting that they had “mutually decided” to “amicably end” their marriage, and that the divorce was a “united decision.”
The couple share two daughters together: Willa, 5, and Delphine, 3.

In June, a source revealed to PEOPLE how the pair have been able to manage their long distance co-parenting relationship.
According to the insider, the exes “have gotten into a co-parenting rhythm that really works and they’ve figured out how to communicate.”
“There’s a mutual respect now, and the girls are their priority,” the source added. “Joe and Sophie have hit a surprisingly peaceful groove, and they’ve maintained an amicable relationship from two continents, which isn’t easy, but they’ve managed to pull it off.”
