Evan Neal’s rough showing and other Giants takeaways

Here are some Giants takeaways from Thursday night’s preseason victory over the Patriots

— Rookie running back Cam Skattebo missed the first two games dealing with a strained hamstring but he made it back to practice this week and that enabled him to get on the field for his first preseason action.

Skattebo looked as if he slipped a bit on the first play, running for 4 yards. He ended up with three rushing attempts for 12 yards. That is not much to work with, but getting him in a game was an important step, as far as getting him ready for the real thing in a few weeks.

— With the starters resting, the first-team offensive line was rookie left tackle Marcus Mbow, left guard Aaron Stinnie, center Austin Schlottman, right guard Evan Neal and right tackle Stone Forsythe.
