Julia Fox opens up about cosmetic surgery regrets

Julia Fox is done living up to men’s expectations.

The “Uncut Gems” actress, 35, admitted to having plastic surgery regrets, noting that she previously underwent procedures in order to please the male gaze.

Fox shared that she started getting filler and Botox at 21 years old in a new interview with Allure, and she’s also been open in the past about undergoing a rhinoplasty, liposuction and getting veneers.

“Now, when I see someone and I can tell they’ve never done anything…I wish I could go back and be that person,” she said. “I was so hung up on this idea that I needed to be attractive to men so that I could survive.”

Still, she didn’t count out getting more plastic surgery in the future.

“I probably will [get more work done one day], but I’m just not as concerned with it right now,” she said.

Fox was candid about fearing aging.

“That’s what I think I’m the most scared of, feeling old, and there are times where I feel old…Tired, over it, disillusioned,” she shared. “When you’re young and hot, it’s like, that’s your identity. Then you’re like, ‘s—t, I need to stay young and hot.’”

As of now, she hopes to have the confidence to let herself age.

“Am I going to chase the way I used to look, or am I going to evolve and see what’s on the other side? It could be something totally different, and I’m choosing to go that way,” she said. “I just want to see who’s there waiting for me.”

“It’ll definitely be uncomfortable, but I think I’m ready for it,” she concluded.

In June, Fox praised celebrities like Kylie Jenner and Kristin Cavallari for being transparent about the plastic surgery they’ve gotten.

“I love it. I think we should be honest,” she told People.

The “OMG Fashun” host noted that celebrities who weren’t honest about getting work done were “setting an unrealistic bar” for their fans.

“That’s really great for you, but what about all the girls that are so impressionable and feeling like ‘Wait, why don’t I look like that and what’s wrong with me?’” she pointed out.

“It’s like, girl, none of us look like this, you know what I mean? Like we all look really different without the surgery and without the fillers and without the makeup and all the things we do and the face tapes and the wigs and the tanning creams. The list goes on. On and on and on,” she said.

Back in 2023, Fox told Elle that she was holding off on getting more liposuction even with her body changing.

“I’m, like, saggy—like, things are not sitting the way they used to,” she said. “But it’s like, I am not gonna do a damn thing about it.”
