While all signs are capable of inspiring ire, astrologer Evan Nathanial Grim of Inner Worlds Astrology shares that one takes the bitter cake for the most frustrating.
“This sign likes to play devil’s advocate with everything,” he said. “You’re set on traveling somewhere? They’ll try to convince you to go somewhere else.”
Grim noted that if you love something, even them, they might try to talk you out of it.
“Should you even propose to this sign? Because even if they want to tell you yes, they might argue why the marriage would be a bad idea.”
He is speaking, of course, of the sign of the mind and the mouth, those trash-talking, wit weaponizing, tongue-lashing, contrarians of chaos, ladies and gentlemen, Geminis.
By definition, frustrate means “to bring to nothing, prevent from taking effect or coming to fulfillment.”
This is apt when we consider that in double-talking, suggesting, subverting, and spoon-feeding others from a heaping cup of doubt, Geminis often impede or at least siphon the joy from a proposed plan.
Gemini is ruled by Mercury, named for the psychopomp god of messenging and thieves, whose winged sandals carried him and his vexatious tongue from the heights of Mount Olympus to the depths of the underworld.
Mercury is trickster energy personified and is the patron saint of roads, and if you’ll allow the poetry, the wistfulness of roads not taken.
In kind, no other sign is more adept at being frustratingly flexible, changing course, canceling plans, or entertaining an outside perspective, regardless of how radically problematic or downright bat***t it may be.
Gemini is defined by duality, blessed/cursed with the ability to see ALL possibilities. They rationalize in real time and consistently think out loud for all to hear. They aren’t trying to frustrate, just insert alternatives.
In the comments section, a self-identifying (and self-aware) Gemini shared, “My favorite question is are you suuuure?”
Another revealed, “I’m a Gemini and I do this. I get told I’m against everything, not the case, just looking at things from both sides.”
Be it both ways or all ways, Gemini is born to question and, in doing so, often make others question the fabric of reality or the soundness of their judgments.
