Malik Nabers’ injury worries grow as he’s held out of Giants practice

Anyone interested or amped up to see Malik Nabers run routes and go one-on-one during Tuesday morning’s Giants-Jets joint practice went away disappointed.

Nabers was held out of the practice, with coach Brian Daboll revealing only that Nabers was “rehabbing.”

Nabers has been dealing with a lingering toe issue that has kept him out of several training camp practices.

He also did not play in the preseason-opening victory in Buffalo.

Nabers has said he is managing an injury that dates all the way back to his college days at LSU.

It is growing more likely that Nabers will not play at all in the remaining two preseason games.

Another wide receiver, Jalin Hyatt, also did not practice as he continues to miss time with an undisclosed injury.

Also sitting out the joint practice: RB Cam Skattebo, G Evan Neal, CB Dru Phillips and WR Da’Quon Felton.

Daboll said he spoke with his players early Tuesday morning and alerted them again about keeping their composure, as joint practices often include extracurricular activity.

“We don’t want to do that,” Daboll said. “We want to stay healthy and we want to keep the Jets healthy.”
