When Does ‘Outlander: Blood Of My Blood’ Premiere On Starz?

Outlander Season 8 might not be coming out until next year, but STARZ is ending the Droughtlander this week with the launch of Outlander: Blood of My Blood. The first Outlander prequel series follows the intersecting love stories of Jamie (Sam Heughan) and Claire’s (Caitriona Balfe) own parents. In the early 18th century, we get to follow Brian Fraser (Jamie Roy) as he falls hard for Ellen MacKenzie (Harriet Slater), while the spirited Julia Moriston (Hermione Corfield) finds herself enchanted by a letter written from Henry Beauchamp (Jeremy Irvine) from the front lines of World War I. Both couples have epic romances that will sweep you away much like Claire and Jamie’s story did.

Outlander: Blood of My Blood was created by long-time Outlander showrunner Matthew B. Roberts and imagines a scenario where Claire’s parents didn’t die in a car crash, but traveled back to the time where Jamie’s parents first met. This twist not only recontextualizes Claire’s own story, but also lets us revisit younger versions of our favorite Outlander characters. We meet Colum (Séamus McLean Ross) and Dougal (Sam Retford) right as they duke it out for the Lairdship, get to witness sweet Murtagh (Rory Alexander) ignoring a lovesick Jocasta (Sadhbh Malin), and even see what Ned Gowan (Conor MacNeill) was up to.
