‘Love Island USA’ Shocker: Season 6 Sweethearts JaNa Craig, Kenny Rodriguez Split Up
Love Island USA Season 6 finalists JaNa Craig and Kenny Rodriguez have reportedly broken up.
Almost a year after the couple nabbed third place of the hit Peacock television show, TMZ reports that Craig and Rodriguez broke up on July 27, with Craig deciding to pull the plug on the relationship.
The couple were last spotted attending David Dobrick’s birthday party together the evening before.
Neither Craig nor Rodriguez have spoken out about the split. But they have both removed any mention of each other from their Instagram bios and Craig seems to have scrubbed any photos of Rodriguez from her profile. The rest of PPG – Leah Kateb and Season 6 winner Serena Page – have also unfollowed Rodriguez, as have their partners Miguel Harichi and Kordell Beckham.
The shocking split comes just weeks after the premiere of Love Island: Beyond the Villa, which captures the lives of the islanders after leaving the villa. Rodriguez and Craig notably lived separately while filming the new Peacock spinoff series.
Rodriguez told Variety that he viewed living together to be a “big” next step.
“Since leaving the villa, it’s a big jump moving in together with someone, and I didn’t want it to be televised, especially the first time,” he said. “So we rented rooms next to each other. Another aspect for me is privacy. When JaNa gets ready for events, she has a huge glam team. Usually, there’s somebody in there for wardrobe, and sometimes I don’t have the space to change and things like that. Granted, we were always together on the show. It was great to experience L.A. and to be with her in the same city.”
Craig told DECIDER ahead of the new show that she respected his need for privacy.
“Kenny is just very [introverted] and he’s working really hard on breaking out of his shell. So I just respected his space and I understood where he’s coming from,” she said.
She also added that they had no timeline set regarding when they would move in together.
“I used to have a timeline,” she said. “I don’t really have a timeline anymore. We kind of just go with the flow. I feel it’s way better to put no pressure on anything and just let it grow on its own.”
New episodes of Love Island: Beyond the Villa stream on Peacock every Thursday.
