Cleveland radio host loses it after Joe Flacco’s Bengals breakout
Cleveland radio host Tony Rizzo crashed out on Friday.
Following Joe Flacco’s stellar performance in his second start with the Bengals against Aaron Rodgers and the Steelers in what many deemed as the Unc Bowl on Thursday, Rizzo simply couldn’t take it anymore, wondering why the Browns GM Andrew Berry would trade the 40-year-old quarterback.
“How could you do that, Andrew?” Rizzo bellowed over the mic during “The Tony Rizzo Show.” “How could you do it? Why on Earth did you feel the need to trade this guy to a division opponent for a fifth-round draft pick? Fireable offense. I wanna know how much longer the owner’s gonna watch this crap?”
Rizzo — whose voice kept getting louder as he went on — continued by saying that the fans have had enough of the actions from Cleveland’s owner, Jimmy Haslam.
“The fans have had it, we deserve better,” Rizzo yelled as his voice started to break. “You are just worried more about your stadium than you are your football team, that’s the perception, Jimmy. You allow these people to do this.
“You have the worst offense in the league. Your GM screwed this quarterback thing up like I’ve never seen — in my life I’ve never seen anything like it. Kids who play Madden could have done a better job…This franchise has become a joke.”
Rizzo’s scathing comments come after Flacco threw for 342 passing yards and three touchdowns in the Bengals’ 33-31 win over Pittsburgh Thursday night.

Flacco was traded to Cincinnati earlier this month after the Browns benched the veteran QB for rookie Dillon Gabriel the week prior.

Flacco was lackluster through his four starts with Cleveland this season, throwing six interceptions to just two touchdowns while racking up 815 passing yards.
The Browns hold a 1-5 record and have lost their past three games as they sit in last place in the AFC North.
