‘WWHL’: Julia Roberts Says Rumors Claiming She’s Late To Work Are “More Upsetting” Than Being Accused Of Being A Drug Addict
Julia Roberts has spent decades in the public eye, so it’s not surprising that there have been a few outlandish rumors written about her in the tabloids.
During Wednesday night’s (Oct. 8) Watch What Happens Live After Show, Roberts revealed the craziest rumors she’s read about herself over the years.
“All tabloid reporting is pretty crazy. What would it be? I mean, I’ve dated boys I’ve never met, and lots of them,” she said. “I just thought, ‘That sounds great!’ Not true.”
“Maybe being a drug addict or maybe being late to work, which I have never been,” she continued. “That was more upsetting than being accused of being a drug addict, honestly, because it goes against my moral compass.”
According to the actress, she’s not a regular pot smoker, but she did try it once with a friend who was “prolific at smoking pot.”
“It just seemed like, ‘Yeah, yeah!’ And I was like, ‘What’s happening?!’ It is not good for me,” Roberts said, noting that her cocktails of choice are often a good glass of red wine or a vodka soda.
Roberts appeared in the Bravo Clubhouse for WWHL’s 3,000th episode to promote her new movie, After the Hunt, which also stars The Bear’s breakout star Ayo Edebiri. Of course, Andy Cohen couldn’t let Roberts, a Bravo super fan, leave without giving some of her hot takes on all things Real Housewives.
In response to Lisa Barlow hosting a lunch to clear up rumors about past legal drama that her businesses have been involved in, Roberts said, “I did see a preview where Lisa presented a big poster board, PowerPoint presentation of her innocence. If you gotta ring the bell that hard, you’re guilty.” Roberts also said she believed Julia Lemigova’s claim in The Real Housewives of Miami reunion that she and Adriana de Moura slept together. “One million percent, yes,” Roberts said, noting that de Moura’s response to the allegation is what gave it all away.
Watch What Happens Live airs Sunday through Thursday at 10 p.m. ET on Bravo. New episodes are available to stream the next day on Peacock.
