Florida man charged in double homicide after victim recorded murders on cellphone: reports

A Florida man was charged with two counts of murder after one of his alleged victims captured the double homicide on cellphone video, according to reports.

Louis Jules, 59, was arrested on Friday less than 8 hours after video footage of the fatal shootings was recovered from the phone of one of two shooting victims, who were found hanging out of a white pickup truck in Tampa, WTVT reported.

The footage recorded by the unidentified 40-year-old female victim showed a man alleged to be Jules standing outside the truck’s rear passenger seat holding a set of keys and a cup before gunshots rang out, Law and Crime reported citing an affidavit.

Video showed Jules begin rummaging inside the vehicle, disturbing the unidentified 37-year-old male driver, who shouted “Hey, you can’t go in my car.”

Jules then allegedly throws the liquid contents of his cup at the driver while reaching for his semi-automatic firearm with his right hand.

“The video then shows the defendant point the firearm in the direction where the male victim was found and racks the slide back,” the Tampa Police Department affidavit said, according to Law and Crime.

Video captured the horrifying screams of the female as her companion was gunned down.

Cops said the woman recorded the shooting of a male companion and her futile attempt to flee the scene before being
shot to death.

She then vainly tried to flee the scene, but was shot several times on her way out of the passenger side of the pick-up truck.

Jules was seen on the video closing the vehicle’s door after the shooting and prior to fleeing the scene, Law and Crime reported.

Later that same day, neighbors of Jules identified him in the video and police tracked him down to a friend’s house, where they saw the suspect discarding a black semi-automatic pistol, the report stated.

Jules admitted to police the dispute started because the victims “owed him money” and he “was very angry,” according to the affidavit.

He is charged with two counts of first-degree murder and one count of tampering with evidence, according to WTVT.
