Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck reunite on the red carpet for the first time since their divorce

Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck reunited for the “Kiss of the Spider Woman” premiere in New York City Monday, marking their first public sighting together since finalizing their divorce in January.

Lopez and Affleck were friendly with one another as she was photographed speaking to him on the red carpet and smiling as he leaned in to talk in her ear.

The two posed for pictures together and at one point, he put his hand on her waist to help her walk the red carpet.

Lopez, 56, wore a stunning brown floral dress with a black overlay that channeled a spider, while Affleck, 53, kept it classic in a navy blue suit.

Lopez stars in the “Kiss of the Spider Woman” musical and is also an executive producer alongside Affleck.

The Oscar winner gushed that Lopez was “amazing” in the film in an interview with “Extra” at the premiere.

“Early on in Jennifer’s involvement in this… she just was going to give it her all and she did,” he said. “She worked enormously hard. You get to see like all of her many gifts, she’s somebody that grew up watching, you know, classic musicals.”

“She really does it all in this movie!,” he added.

Meanwhile, Lopez credited her ex-husband for getting the movie made in her interview with “Today” on Monday.

“If it wasn’t for Ben, the movie wouldn’t have (gotten) made, and I will always give him that credit,” she said.

Lopez also said that making the movie got her through a trying time in her personal life.

“The movie is about escapism. It’s about how movies and art save us in the hardest times of our lives,” she said. “And doing this project was such a dream come true for me that it really got me through, to kind of survive a moment that was difficult in my personal life, as well.”

Last month, the “Hustlers” star reflected on her and Affleck’s highly publicized divorce and said she was “a different person now.”

“It was the best thing that ever happened to me because it changed me,” the actress told CBS News’ “Sunday Morning.”

She quickly clarified, “It didn’t change me. It helped me grow in a way that I needed to grow [and] become more self-aware.”

For his part, Affleck said he had “nothing but respect” for Lopez after their divorce in an interview with GQ published in March.

“I guess there’s a tendency to look at breakups and want to identify root causes or something,” he mused. “But honestly, like I said, the truth is much more quotidian than probably people would believe or would be interesting.”

“The truth is, when you talk to somebody, ‘Hey, what happened?’ Well, there is no: ‘This is what happened,’” he continued. “It’s just a story about people trying to figure out their lives and relationships in ways that we all sort of normally do.”

“Kiss of the Spider Woman,” directed by Bill Condon, is a film adaptation of the stage musical of the same name. Lopez’s performance as Ingrid Luna, aka the Spider Woman, has received positive reviews from critics.

The musical hits theaters Oct. 10.
