Hilary Duff knows exactly what dreams are made of.
On Friday, Oct. 3, the Disney alum, 38, made a surprise appearance at Austin City Limits Music Festival in Texas when Role Model brought her out to be his latest “Sally,” while he performed the song “Sally, When the Wine Runs Out.”
“This is what dreams are made of,” the 28-year-old yelled into the microphone as he and the How I Met Your Father actress danced together.
Role Model’s introduction to Duff was a reference to Duff’s 2003 hit “What Dreams Are Made Of, famously featured in The Lizzie McGuire Movie. The film was a spin-off of Duff’s popular 2001-2004 Disney Channel series Lizzie McGuire.
Footage shared on X showed Role Model’s crowd of adoring fans becoming even more hyped as Duff playfully danced her way toward him while grooving to his 2024 hit, “Sally, When the Wine Runs Out.”

Role Model has made it a tradition to bring celebs out to be his “Good Sally” for various performances of the song.
In July, Natalie Portman played “Sally” on stage as the singer opened for Gracie Abrams at Madison Square Garden. Other famous “Sally”’s include Reneé Rapp, Bowen Yang, Troye Sivan and Kate Hudson.
Duff’s appearance at Austin City Limits is a sneak peek of what the multi-hyphenate has in store.
Just last month, the “Come Clean” singer revealed she would be stepping back into the world of music, 10 years after the release of her last album, Breathe In. Breathe Out., in 2015. She signed to Atlantic Records and has a docuseries in the works as well, per a press release.
The upcoming Sam Wrench-directed series “will chronicle Duff’s long-awaited musical return and personal journey, offering an unfiltered vignette into Hilary’s world,” per the release. Wrench also serves as an executive producer.
It will showcase her “ups, downs, and everything in between,” and “fans will ride shotgun as she balances raising a family, recording new music, live show rehearsals, and preparing to perform on stage for the first time in over a decade.”
In the meantime, the mother of four is living her best life in the wake of celebrating her 38th birthday.
