Taylor Swift is celebrating the release of her highly anticipated twelfth studio album, The Life of a Showgirl.
After dropping her newest body of work at midnight on Thursday, the pop superstar, 35, posted a carousel of sexy snaps from her latest era in celebration.
“I can’t tell you how proud I am to share this with you, an album that just feels so right. A forever thank you goes out to my mentors and friends Max and Shellback for helping me paint this self portrait,” she said, name-checking the album’s producers. “If you thought the big show was wild, perhaps you should come and take a look behind the curtain…”
Largely a love letter to her future husband Travis Kelce, Showgirl also settles scores and takes aim at societal expectations on modern-day celebrities.
The singer first announced the album during her appearance on Kelce’s New Heights podcast. Revealing the album cover and track list, Swift told fans that the album was inspired by everything “going behind the scenes in my inner life” during her record-breaking Eras Tour.

“I’m so proud of it, and it just comes from the most infectiously joyful, wild, dramatic place I was in in my life,” she said. “That effervescence has come through on this record.”
During a jam-packed release week, Swift is expected to appear on The Graham Norton Show, The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and Late Night with Seth Meyers.
Starting at 3 p.m. ET on Oct. 3, fans can also head to movie theaters to watch The Official Release Party of a Showgirl, which features the world premiere of her “The Fate of Ophelia” music video, along with behind-the-scenes footage, lyric videos from the album and “cut by cut explanations” of her songs, Swift previously revealed.
