Kate Hudson Celebrates ‘Sassy’ Daughter Rani’s 7th Birthday with New Photos

Kate Hudson’s “little lady” is celebrating a special occasion! 

On Thursday, Oct. 2, the actress, 46, shared a cute post on Instagram to mark her daughter and youngest child, Rani Rose, turning 7 years old. 

The post featured a series of photos and clips of Hudson sharing some special moments with her daughter, including on vacation, dancing, backstage at a gig and having her hair styled. 

“My little lady is 7 today! My sweet sparkly sassy silly sunshine girl! You are the light of my life 🌟🎂🎉☀️🌟,” wrote Hudson. “I love you! Happy Birthday,” she added, also including two Libra star sign emojis. 

The Running Point star shares Rani with her fiancé Danny Fujikawa, who was also featured in the post. A selfie showed the trio snuggling up and smiling, while a sweet clip saw musician Fujikawa, 39, teaching his little girl how to play the guitar. 

Vacation snaps also saw Hudson swimming with Rani and the mother-daughter duo exploring caves on a boat with Fujikawa. While Hudson sported a yellow string bikini, her daughter wore a navy bathing suit as she smiled at the camera while sitting next to her mom and dad.

“Happy birthday, Rani!❤️❤️❤️,” wrote Hudson’s Running Point costar Brenda Song in the comments section, while Rita Wilson added, “Happy Birthday precious light!!!💐🎂☀️.”

The post was set to Cyndi Lauper’s 1983 track “Girls Just Want to Have Fun.”

Last year, Hudson exclusively opened up to PEOPLE about her daughter and how she was following in her footsteps when it comes to her personality and traits. 

“She’s the best. She’s so magical,” the proud mom said. “She’s definitely her mother’s daughter. It takes her forever to get out of the house. She’s very particular about her wardrobe and her clothes and her vibe.”

“She is just a total firecracker, but then she’s much more emotional than I think I was when I was little,” she continued. “She’s much more of an empath where I was like, yeah. She’s just very empathetic and emotional.”

Hudson is also mom to sons Ryder, 21, and Bingham, 14. She shares Ryder with her ex-husband Chris Robinson and Bingham with former fiancé and Muse musician Matt Bellamy.
