Zosia Mamet is feeling particularly grateful for her husband Evan Jonigkeit as they celebrate nine years of marital bliss.

On Wednesday, Oct. 1, the 37-year-old Girls alum took to social media to wish her beloved a happy anniversary.

She did so by sharing several photos of them on Instagram. The first, a black-and-white image, featured the couple sharing a laugh while standing on a balcony.

In a more relaxed photo, Mamet and Jonigkeit are chilling in a bed, wearing plush white robes with their hair hidden under towels. The actress is smiling and holding what appears to be a coffee cup.

Mamet included a selfie that they took on an adventure, with them sitting side-by-side with helmets on; she ended with another black-and-white snapshot. In the final image, the Hunting Wives star, 42, is standing behind his beloved with his arms around her. Mamet leans back to kiss him on the cheek.

“Nobody loves me like you do,” she captioned the sweet tribute, tagging her husband and adding, “Happy anniversary my heavenly hunk. Here’s to more forever together. ❤️”

Jonigkeit got in on the anniversary celebrations by re-sharing the final photo on his Instagram Stories, writing, “Public declaration that @zosiamamet is the better half. Happy anniversary, lover.”

Mamet, who brought Shoshanna to life on Girls alongside Lena Dunham, Allison Williams, Jemima Kirke and Adam Driver, exchanged vows with her husband on Oct. 2, 2016. She did so wearing a striking black wedding gown at Cedar Lakes Estate in the Hudson River Valley in New York.

“I’ve never really dreamt of my wedding day, I’ve only dreamt of finding a person who I’d want to have a wedding day with — so I was starting from scratch,” she told Vogue at the time, noting that she wasn’t sure what sort of wedding dress she wanted.

She continued, recalling, “We must have tried on 40 dresses. I wanted something comfortable, and I didn’t really want to wear white. The dress I ultimately chose was by Givenchy, and it was the last one I tried on—the minute it went over my head, both my friends gasped. It definitely wasn’t the most epic in terms of the dress’s power on its own, but it fit me like a glove in every way, and I knew, without a doubt, that it was my dress.”

The couple met three years before their 2016 wedding while starring in the off-Broadway play Really, Really.

During a July 2024 interview on Today with Hoda and Jenna, Mamet said that she and Jonigkeit “did a lot of gaslighting” to keep their romance a secret in those early days.

“We knew it was something that we felt like was probably going to last and be serious,” she explained, adding, “But you know when you’re in a new relationship? Normally, you get to decide when you bring your family and your friends into it. But when you’re doing a play with seven other people your age, that’s not the case.”

She said that when their castmates called them on their relationship, they replied by saying the gossip was “so unprofessional.”

“On the back end, we had to be like, ‘We’re really sorry.’ Cause they were like, ‘You guys, you’re just in love with each other?’ And I’m like, “Pff, I hate him!’ “
