Kate Gosselin Shared She Underwent One of ‘Top 3’ Most Painful Surgeries

Kate Gosselin is updating TikTok followers on her recent medical emergency.

On Monday, Sept. 29, the former reality star, 50, posted a TikTok photo from a hospital bed, hooked up to IVs, and told fans she would really appreciate their prayers.

In a follow-up TikTok video shared Tuesday, Sept. 30, Kate posted a selfie of herself in a hospital bed, revealing that she underwent surgery. “Update: I had surgery this morning and have five pain meds on board (top 3 most painful surgery),” she wrote. 

“I am not in a position to go into the details now but only bc I can’t focus. I did well,” she continued. “Details coming soon. CANNOT thank you enough for all your prayers! Love you guys! 😘.”

Several TikTok users sent her messages of support. “Oh my goodness Kate take care of yourself I’m glad surgery is over now please rest I wish you healing and peace 💜,” one wrote.

Another added, “Oh no!!!! Wishing you a speedy recovery…sending you healing wishes and prayers! 🫂🙏💝.”

On Monday, Kate asked her followers to “Please pray for me tonight and tomorrow.🙏.” 

“I will be fine, but I’m scared and would appreciate prayers!” she added. “Thanks, guys😘”

Kate wrote in the caption that she would provide her followers with details about her health in the future. “Emergencies don’t care about schedules! Please DON’T worry about me! Please pray instead!” she said. “Don’t worry, story time to follow when I’m able! Love you guys! I’ll be back as soon as I can! 😘.”

During the TV personality’s Sept. 9 TikTok video, she shared that she has had issues with her bladder since her multiple births.

Kate and her now ex-husband Jon Gosselin first welcomed twin girls Mady and Cara in 2000. They later welcomed their sextuplets — Alexis, Hannah, Aaden, Collin, Leah and Joel — in 2004. The twins are now 24 and the sextuplets are 21.

“When I was pregnant with them, my stomach was squished up here, like 1 inch. You can see it on an ultrasound,” Kate said in her TikTok earlier this month. “And my bladder was squished way down here, compressed the whole time with baby weight. Compressed, compressed, compressed.”

“It lost its ability to do what a bladder is supposed to do. It’s a muscle,” she continued. “And it lost its elasticity or whatever.”

The mom of eight said that she had a catheter for a week, but since then, her bladder has never been the same.

“I can’t exactly explain it, or put my finger on it,” she said. “But it just is very different after that.”
