Aaron Glenn is dedicated to football and family.
The New York Jets head coach is married to his wife of nearly three decades, Devaney Glenn. The two met as students at Texas A&M University and have been inseparable ever since. Together, they are proud parents to three children: Aaron II, Tristen and Rheagen.
Despite the public nature of the Texas native’s profession, the couple has kept most of their relationship out of the spotlight. During his introductory press conference with the Jets in January 2025, Aaron took a moment to pay tribute to his wife.
“I want to thank my backbone, my wife of 28 years, Devaney Glenn,” he said. “I could not be in this position without you. My rib. You’re special. You’re special.”
So, who is Aaron Glenn’s wife? Here’s everything to know about Devaney Glenn.

Aaron transferred to Texas A&M for the 1992 and 1993 seasons after earning Junior College All-American status at Navarro College. During his time with the Aggies, he was named Southwest Conference (SWC) Newcomer of the Year and a first-team All-Southwest Conference selection.
The college is also where he found his future bride. The couple wed while Aaron was playing as defensive back for the New York Jets.
“I met my wife, Devaney, in college and we were married after my second year with the Jets,” the coach told NewYorkJets.com in June 2012. “She’s been on this road with me a long time.”
At that time, Aaron had joined the Jets as a scout — a decision his wife was pleased with.
“This is the first time I’ve been to this facility, but my wife spent a good amount of time in the North Jersey area,” he continued. “We kind of know this place and we like this place.”

Their son, Aaron Glenn II, stays away from the spotlight, but he was present to support his father at his January 2025 introductory press conference when he was named the New York Jets head coach.
Tristen, their older daughter, graduated from Louisiana State University with a bachelor’s degree in fashion and apparel design. She later attended FIDM for a bachelor’s degree in merchandise product development, according to her LinkedIn.
She has held several positions in the fashion industry and currently works as a stylist at FIGS in Los Angeles, where she helps bring the brand’s creative vision to life by styling looks for campaigns, e-commerce and social media.
Daughter Rheagen is the youngest of the Glenn trio. She is a student at San Diego State University and is working toward her real estate license, per her LinkedIn.
Aaron thanked his children and highlighted their football chops in his first remarks to the New York media as head coach.
“They should be coaching because they know this game just as well as I do, and they are the best kids that you can have,” he said. “And listen, we’re in this battle together, like we always been. We are a football family. We love it, we sleep it, we breathe it and that won’t change.”
He continued, saying, “There’s nothing better than that: to have a family that understands exactly how you operate and what you do.”

After his 2010 retirement from the NFL, Aaron found success as a businessman, opening eight restaurants in the Houston area, per ESPN. But he couldn’t shake his passion for football.
Aaron would occasionally stop by Klein Oak High School to watch his brother, Jason, coach. Inevitably, he’d end up on the field, offering tips and demonstrating technique.
But the real turning point came when he would watch NFL games on TV. Aaron couldn’t sit through a game without dissecting plays out loud, frustrated by blown coverages and missed assignments. Finally, Devaney encouraged him to channel that energy into coaching.
“I have watched you fight this,” she told her husband, according to a December 2020 feature in The Athletic. “Just go coach. I can tell you aren’t happy. I know it will make you happy. Go coach.”
Devaney added that there isn’t “anyone who works as hard” as Aaron.
“He’s very passionate about it,” she continued.

Devaney knows exactly how to steady her husband when pressure mounts. Following a rough Detroit Lions loss to the Seattle Seahawks in 2022, Aaron — then the defensive coordinator for the Lions — was venting over dinner.
“I’m just bitching about everything,” Aaron recalled in The Detroit News in October 2022. “But after I finish, she’s like, ‘Are you done?’ I’m like, ‘Yeah.’ And then she just said, ‘Well, go be A.G. Go be A.G. You’re built for this.’ And she’s right.”
