Lana Del Rey is showing some love for a “West Coast” band.

On Saturday, Sept. 27, a local band in Santa Barbara, Calif., was performing a cover of 2014’s “West Coast” when Del Rey happened to be nearby. She then approached the band, called Fastest Kids in School, and asked if could join them.

“Super honored @honeymoon joined us on stage at Institution today! Truly a show we’ll never forget!” the band wrote on Instagram, alongside a video of the Born to Die artist, 40, singing with them in an outdoor space.

In a separate Instagram post, band member Dan Grimes explained how it all fell into place in the comments section.

“She just happened to be walking by while we were playing her song and motioned to see if we wouldn’t mind if she came on stage,” he wrote. “Of course we obliged and that is when my head exploded. She was just ‘out getting some ice cream’ she said. 😍”

In the caption, he wrote that it was “a moment I will never forget” and he “still can’t believe that just happened.”

Del Rey’s impromptu performance came days after she celebrated her first year of marriage with  Jeremy Dufrene. On Instagram, Del Rey posted a carousel of photos to Instagram, offering an intimate look at their wedding day.

The post included photos of the couple posing and kissing on an airboat, their wedding guests, the cake and more.

Del Rey and Dufrene — who’s a swamp boat tour guide in Louisiana — tied the knot in Des Allemandes, La. A source told PEOPLE at the time that “the wedding ceremony and reception were both held in the same bayou where Jeremy operates his swamp boat tours.”

On Aug. 28, she spoke with W Magazine about her forthcoming LP, now called Stove (previously titled Lasso and The Right Person Will Stay), being delayed.

Per the “Summertime Sadness” singer, she wanted to add six songs to the record.

“They were more autobiographical than I thought, and that took more time,” the “Say Yes to Heaven” musician said. “Storytelling is there in both. And I’m always drawn to world-creating, especially in country music.”

She also noted that “majority of the album” — which she worked on with producer Luke Laird and Jack Antonoff — has a “country flair.”

Throughout 2025, the “Video Games” singer released multiple singles, including “Bluebird” and “Henry, Come On.”
