Zoey Deutch and Jimmy Tatro are engaged!

The Set It Up actress and the 22 Jump Street actor announced in September 2025 that they had secretly gotten engaged three months prior. The couple shared the exciting news by posting photos from their waterfront engagement and her square cushion-cut diamond ring.

“three months engaged to the love of my life,” they captioned the joint post on Sept. 28.

Deutch and Tatro went public with their romance in 2021 and have shared sweet glimpses of their relationship on social media. They have gone on to support each other at events, travel across the world together and spend holidays with each other’s families.

Similar to his fiancée, Tatro is also in the entertainment business and works as an actor, comedian and YouTube personality. He has worked on various films and television shows over the years — including Home Economics, Grown Ups 2 and You’re Cordially Invited.

He grew up in California

Like Deutch, whose parents are Hollywood stars Lea Thompson and Howard Deutch, Tatro grew up in Los Angeles, attending Notre Dame High School in Sherman Oaks, Calif.

After high school, Tatro attended the University of Arizona, where he was a member of Pi Kappa Phi fraternity.

He got his start on YouTube

In 2011, Tatro created his YouTube channel LifeAccordingToJimmy where he regularly posts comedy skits.

The channel currently has over 3.3 million subscribers, and his videos have featured numerous celebrities, including Angela Kinsey, David Henrie, Alexander Ludwig, Emily Osment, Milo Ventimiglia and more.

He’s a comedian and an actor

In addition to doing comedy skits on his YouTube channel, Tatro has also hit the road to perform at comedy clubs and colleges.

After working as a comedian and YouTube personality for years, he transitioned into acting and got his big acting break when he appeared in the Adam Sandler comedy film Grown Ups 2 in 2013. Since then, he has had roles in 22 Jump Street, Blue Mountain State, American Vandal and Home Economics.

Most recently, he starred alongside Reese Witherspoon, Will Ferrell, Leanne Morgan and Geraldine Viswanathan in the 2025 romantic comedy, You’re Cordially Invited. Prior to that, he worked with Ben Platt, Molly Gordon and Noah Galvin in the comedy film Theater Camp. In January 2023, Deutch was by his side as they attended the film’s premiere at Sundance Film Festival.

He’s also set to appear in the 2026 film Scream 7 and the upcoming movies Mike & Nick & Nick & Alice and Judgement Day.

He’s been dating Zoey Deutch since 2021

Tatro and Deutch confirmed that they were dating in 2021 when Tatro shared his first Instagram post with her on Valentine’s Day in 2021. He posted several photos of them together alongside the caption, “Just using today as an excuse to post some top notch untapped Zoey content.”

Since then, both Tatro and Deutch have paid tributes to each other for birthdays in various Instagram posts. On Nov. 10, 2022, he gave her a birthday shout-out on Instagram and captioned photos of the two of them, “Happy birthday to my favorite person ❤️.”

Although the couple keep the details of their love life private, Deutch has briefly spoken about their relationship and called Tatro her “polar opposite.”

“I would be so bored If I was dating someone who agreed with me on everything and thought everything in the same way as me — I’d be so bored by that,” Deutch said on the U Up? podcast in August 2022. “I mean I am currently with someone who is my actual polar opposite.”

Tatro and Deutch got engaged in 2025

In September 2025, Deutch and Tatro revealed that they had taken the next step in their relationship and had gotten engaged after four years of dating. Their joint post featured several Polaroids from the proposal, including a shot of Tatro’s setup of candles on the beach.

Several celebrities — including Busy Philipps, Lili Reinhart, Vanessa Hudgens, Sarah Hyland, Topher Grace and Patrick Schwarzenegger — commented under the post to congratulate the couple.
