Richard Gere and wife Alejandra Silva had a stylish date night in Italy.

The pair cozied up while attending the Giorgio Armani fashion show during Milan Fashion Week on Sunday, Sept. 28.

Gere, 76, sported a classic black tux and bow tie, while Silva, 42, wore a strapless floor-length silver gown with beaded embellishments. She paired the dress with pointed metallic heels and a matching clutch, keeping the rest of her look minimal with natural makeup and her hair styled in loose waves.

Glenn Close, Lauren Hutton, Samuel L. Jackson and Cate Blanchett were also in attendance at the star-studded fashion event.

Gere and Silva were family friends who began dating in 2014, and they tied the knot in a quiet ceremony four years later in 2018.

The couple welcomed their elder son, Alexander, 6, in February 2019, and their second son, James, 5, arrived in April 2020. Both Gere and Silva have children from previous relationships: Gere shares son Homer, 25, with his ex-wife Carey Lowell, and Silva shares son Albert, 12, with ex-husband Govind Friedland.

In a January interview with Elle España, Silva — who is from Spain — said that she and Gere are “like soul mates.”

“We have the same values, we see the world in the same way and from the first moment we felt like we have known each other for a long time. And this only happens once, if it happens at all … We were united by the karma of our past lives,” she told the outlet.

The actor also shared that he and Silva bond over their shared passion for social activism.

“We can all minimize this sense of ego, of the self. And that’s when true change occurs,” he said, adding, “My wife shines for her open-mindedness and her genuine sense of gratitude. So connecting with that, however you do it, whether you consider it spirit or religion, love or compassion … it’s infinite.”
