Keanu Reeves had someone special supporting his major milestone.
The actor is making his Broadway debut in the revival of Samuel Beckett’s Waiting for Godot. And at the opening performance on Sunday, Sept. 28, Reeves’ longtime girlfriend Alexandra Grant was by his side.
Photographers snapped the pair as they held hands and posed together on the red carpet.
Both dressed up for the occasion. Grant wore a timeless black gown with a square neckline and cap sleeve details. She accessorized her look with an eye-catching diamond necklace, as well as diamond earrings and bracelets to coordinate.
As for Reeves, he kept it classic in a suit, though paired a black jacket with grey pinstripe pants and a similar tie. He dressed down the ensemble in brown hiking shoes with orange laces.

Reeves, 61, and Grant, 52, made their public debut as a couple after years of dating in November 2019, walking the red carpet together at the LACMA Art + Film Gala in Los Angeles. Prior to their romance, the pair worked together as collaborators, Reeves writing and Grant illustrating 2011’s Ode to Happiness and 2016’s Shadows.
Last week, speculation swirled online that the two, who also co-founded the publishing house X Artists’ Books, had wed. But Grant denied that in an Instagram post on Wednesday, Sept. 24, writing, “Thank you to everyone for the congratulations on our wedding. Except we didn’t get married.”
“Good news is much needed these days, but it’s still fake news, so be careful out there,” she added.
Despite Grant’s clarifying remarks, she and Reeves have largely opted to keep their relationship out of the public eye. A source previously told PEOPLE the couple are “often invited to events but only attend ones that truly matter to them.”
Godot is clearly one of those events. Not only does the play mark Reeves’ Broadway debut, but the actor is also starring in the play opposite Alex Winter, his longtime friend. The two first worked together over 35 years ago in the 1989 sci-fi comedy Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure, and reprised their roles as Bill Preston (Winter) and Ted Logan (Reeves) for a second and third installment of the cult-classic series in 1991 and 2020.

In Waiting for Godot, the actors once again play friends, though their adventure is a little less excellent. The play follows Estragon (Reeves) and Vladimir (Winter) as they pass the time with moments of absurd humor and despair, all while they wait by a tree for someone named Godot, who never arrives.
Critics have long praised Beckett’s existential work as one of the best plays of all time, exploring the themes of uncertainty, hope and the human condition. This production, directed by Tony Award winner Jamie Lloyd (Sunset Boulevard), is playing at the Hudson Theatre in New York City through Jan. 4, 2026.
Joining Reeves and Winter in the cast is Brandon J. Dirden (as Pozzo), Michael Patrick Thornton (as Lucky), Zaynn Arora (as Boy) and Eric Williams (as Boy). Jesse Aaronson and Franklin Bongjio are understudies.
Tickets for Waiting for Godot are now on sale.
