A wedding ended in tragedy after a groom died suddenly during the celebration.

Ashraf Abu Hakam was dancing with his bride at their wedding in Aswan, Egypt, on Thursday, Sept. 25, when he suddenly collapsed, The U.S. Sun and the Daily Mail reported.

Video footage of the tragedy obtained by the outlets shows Hakam dancing with his wife while waving a Saidi stick, a prop used for the traditional Egyptian Saidi dance. He is then seen collapsing on the dance floor in front of horrified guests.

Hakam appeared motionless, as guests tended to him. Attempts were made to revive him, but they were unsuccessful, Gulf News reported.

Hakam reportedly suffered a cardiac arrest and died within moments of collapsing, according to the outlet.

Hakam’s death took place days after a similar tragedy surrounding influencer Adna Rovčanin-Omerbegović, who died shortly after falling ill on her wedding day on Sept. 15.

The 26-year-old wed her husband in Ilidža, a town in Bosnia, on Sept. 13, but she became sick shortly after the wedding festivities and was rushed to a local hospital, where she died, local newspaper Dnevni Avaz reported.
