Selena Gomez, Benny Blanco Kick Off Wedding with Intimate Rehearsal Dinner: Source

Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco‘s rehearsal dinner ahead of their wedding had “the best vibe,” a source tells PEOPLE.

The singer and actress, 33, and the music producer, 37, were joined by loved ones to jump-start their wedding celebrations on Friday, Sept. 26.

“The wedding festivities kicked off yesterday with a rehearsal dinner at an upscale and private estate,” the insider tells PEOPLE exclusively.

“It was the best vibe,” the source adds. “The dinner went on way past dark. Guests had a great time.”

Celebrity friends expected at the wedding include Gomez’s longtime pal Taylor Swift, her Only Murders in the Building costars Steve Martin, Martin Short and Paul Rudd, plus Paris Hilton.

The I Said I Love You First… And You Said It Back collaborators publicly confirmed their relationship in December 2023, six months after they started dating.

One year later on Dec. 11, 2024, Gomez announced her engagement to Blanco on Instagram.

She shared several photos of her picnic proposal featuring her favorite fast food, Taco Bell, plus snaps of her gleaming marquise diamond engagement ring.

This summer, Gomez and Blanco’s pre-wedding parties began.

The Only Murders in the Building star celebrated her bachelorette party in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. She and her friends were spotted dancing, laughing and soaking up the sun on a luxury yacht Aug. 23.

Meanwhile, Blanco had his own bash in Las Vegas. At the time, Blanco shared highlights of what appeared to be his bachelor party in Sin City, including him relaxing at a spa and dining on caviar. A source told PEOPLE he also partied alongside Lil Dicky at XS nightclub at Wynn Las Vegas with Marshmello as the headlining act.

“I’ll never forget this weekend,” Blanco wrote on his Instagram Stories, sharing a photo of him sitting at a large dining table covered with food and tagging Resorts World Las Vegas.

Days later on Aug. 28, Gomez gave fans a behind-the-scenes glimpse into her bachelorette getaway, sharing several photos via Instagram of her bridal attire, including a veil with “bride to be” embroidered on it.

In another snap, she posed in front of a balloon banner that spelled out “Mrs Levin” (Blanco was born Benjamin Joseph Levin).

In recent months, Gomez has shared her excitement to say “I do” to Blanco.

While appearing on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Sept. 9, Gomez was inquired about her impending nuptials, with host Jimmy Fallon, 51, specifically asking her if she was “having fun” amid the process — the star replied, “It’s wonderful. I’m very lucky.”

“It’s going well. I’m so excited,” she added.
